Dockyard UE4

This is a personal piece of work that I've been working on in my own time. I wanted to go for an outdoor scene this time round to give myself new challenges of both assets and lighting in UE4. I had a lot of fun making the modular pieces for the main construction of the yard and then fleshing out the scene with smaller, more intricate, pieces. The lighting was a challenge as I have dabbled with volumetric lighting before on previous projects but never to this extreme. The composition of the piece was also interesting as I found more and more interesting ways of showcasing the environment as time went on and the world changed.

The terrain proved more straight forward than I expected to get good results with vertex painting within the engine. I was really happy with the end look of the tarmac especially where the more damaged sections bordered on the reflective patches of water.
